1. Daniel Bachman “Mount Olive Cohoke” - Philadelphia, PA - 08/01/2012

Pulling up to this abode in Fishtown felt far too familiar. In fact, we had previously been here, in the backyard, to film a session with a band called QUILT. This is how we were introduced to Daniel Bachman.

Daniel is not a native of Philadelphia, but he sure does seem like it. He’s so deeply involved in the music community, you would think he’s been here his entire life. He’s originally from Virginia and ended up in Philadelphia after years of playing shows here. It wasn’t until last September that he decided to give the city a try and has been here ever since.

When we parked the car, we were greeted by Daniel, who was walking down the street with a freshly rolled cigarette in his mouth. He’s one of those genuinely nice people, always so kind and open. We walked over to his place a few houses down and were welcomed into the living room. His cat came walking down the stairs and rubbed up against the backpack I just placed on the ground.

We rearranged some furniture and opened up the blinds to allow some more sunlight to drape across the room. Daniel already had a chair in mind that he wanted to sit in for the session. He took a seat and we tested the levels of his heavily fingerpicked guitar. Giving us a signal that he was all set, we took our positions and pressed record. Here is what came of that Wednesday afternoon. Enjoy.
